When I spoke with the co-worker giving a baby shower I found out that she was throwing the shower the very last day my niece was going to work before the beginning of her pregnancy leave. I explained that I was planning to have a shower after the birth of the baby. We determined that we would tell the shower guests this so they could pick out their gifts accordingly. I would be including relatives and she would include co-employees, so people wouldn't be invited to two showers.
The who and when is completed now comes the theme. There are lots of good themes but decorations and coordinating everything can get expensive. That's when a friend told me about wholesale favors. I had no idea that wholesale favors were available to the general public and that there was such an assortment of these wholesale favors. That resource alone saved the party and my budget. It left a fantastic deal of money for the cake and other essentials.
When planning a baby shower party you can get cards from the department stores where the mom has registered to place in the shower invitations. Having these cards to insert reduces the amount of data you have to write on the invitations and is another fantastic money saver.
Planning a baby shower should include as much input from the new parents as possible. Attempt to include the new dad also so he is not feeling left out of the planning. The baby shower should concentrate on celebrating the brand-new life.
